Zonik Plus

Zonik Plus (born 2016) is the current "supernova" of international dressage. A black Hanoverian/Rheinland stallion standing at 170 cm, he has transitioned from a promising young horse to the World No. 1 on the FEI rankings in a matter of months.

As of early 2026, he is the reigning European Champion and the first horse in history to put Belgium at the very top of the global dressage podium.

Stallion Performance Results

His 2025 season was one for the history books, marked by a "meteoric" rise under his rider and owner, Justin Verboomen.

• World No. 1 Ranking: As of January 2026, he has held the FEI World No. 1 spot for five consecutive months, having overtaken legends like Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Isabell Werth.

• Double European Champion (2025): At the European Championships in Crozet, he won Individual Gold in both the Grand Prix Special and the Grand Prix Freestyle (scoring 89.964%).

• CHIO Aachen Winner: He made history as the first Belgian horse to win the Aachen Grand Prix Freestyle with a massive score of 89.400%.

• Breaking the 90% Barrier: In December 2025, he posted his first score above 90% (91.195%) to win the "World’s Best 12" title in Frankfurt.

• FEI Best Athlete Award (2025): His rider, Justin Verboomen, was awarded the FEI Best Athlete title largely due to their partnership with this stallion.
