Totilas

Totilas (2000–2020) remains the most legendary figure in modern dressage. While he passed away in December 2020 due to colic, his influence in March 2026 is more pervasive than ever. He has successfully transitioned from a "once-in-a-lifetime" sport horse to one of the world's leading "Foundation Sires."

As of 2026, Totilas is ranked as a Top 5 Dressage Sire in the world (WBFSH), with his sons and grandsons now making up a significant portion of the international Grand Prix starting lists.

2026 Status: The Sire of a New Era

Totilas is no longer judged by his own records, but by the dominance of his "Toto" dynasty.

• WBFSH World Ranking: He has solidified his place in the top tier of the world sire rankings, driven by an army of offspring competing at the 5* level.

• The "Total" Presence: At the major 2026 championships, the "Total" prefix (denoting Totilas blood) is everywhere. Offspring like Total Hope OLD, Glock's Total U.S., and Glock's Toto Jr. are the new standard-bearers for the sport.

• KWPN Recognition: In late August 2025/early 2026, he received further "Erkend" (Recognized) status updates from major studbooks, reflecting the continued success of his breeding lines even years after his passing.
