Total McLaren (born 2017) is a noble black Oldenburg stallion who stands as one of the most significant modern carriers of the Totilas legacy. Combining the power of the "Toto" line with the precision of De Niro, he was a record-breaking young horse before transitioning into a high-demand sire.

As of March 2026, he has officially retired from competitive sport due to an injury and is focusing exclusively on his thriving breeding career.

2026 Sport & Retirement Update

While his physical talent suggested a certain Grand Prix future, his path changed in 2024.

• Retirement from Sport: In mid-2024, Helgstrand Dressage announced that Total McLaren would not return to the dressage ring. Despite every effort to rehab an injury, the decision was made to protect his well-being and prioritize his health as a breeding stallion.

• Competitive Legacy: He retired with an exceptional record, including a Bronze Medal at the Bundeschampionat for 4-year-olds (2021) and again for 5-year-olds (2022). He was famous for his "10.0 canter," a mark he received multiple times in his career.
