Sandro Hit
Sandro Song - Ramiro - Welt As
Sandro Hit (1993–2021) was more than just a stallion; he was a phenomenon that fundamentally changed the "look" of the modern dressage horse. A jet-black Oldenburg standing 172 cm, he is the founding father of the Gestüt Schockemöhle empire and remains, even in 2026, one of the most influential sires in history.
As of March 2026, we are five years past his death, but his genetic dominance is so vast that he remains a permanent fixture in the top 10 of the WBFSH Dressage Sire rankings.
The Legacy of the "Black Beauty"
Sandro Hit’s impact on the sport was immediate and revolutionary:
-
The 1999 Breakthrough: Under Ulf Möller, he became both the Bundeschampion and the World Champion of 6-year-old Dressage Horses.
-
Modernizing the Type: Before Sandro Hit, many dressage horses were heavy and "substantial." He introduced the "modern" type: uphill, long-legged, noble-headed, and incredibly light-footed.
-
Olympic Influence: At the Tokyo Olympics, his blood was everywhere. He sired Showtime FRH (German Team Gold) and Salvino (USA Team Silver). Remarkably, all three horses on the US Silver medal team were either his sons or grandsons.
-
The Sire of Sires: He has produced over 200 licensed sons, including legends like Sir Donnerhall I, San Amour, and Sandro Hit II.
