Okavango Semilly (born 2002) is a charismatic bay Selle Français stallion standing at 1.69m. A son of the foundation legend Le Tot de Semilly, he is a "Selle Français Originel" (SFO) stallion who embodies the classic French jumping qualities: strength, ease of riding, and a massive heart. While his career was shaped by a dramatic injury, he has become a symbol of resilience at the Haras de Semilly, celebrated for his exceptional temperament and his ability to pass on rideability to the most difficult of mares.

Okavango’s sports career is divided into two chapters: his rise as a young prodigy and his role as a trusted teacher.

  • "Elite" Young Horse: As a 4-year-old, he made a spectacular debut, finishing 5th in the French 4-Year-Old Championships and earning the prestigious "Elite" rating.

  • The Barn Fire: His competitive ascent was tragically interrupted when he was severely burned in a barn fire. While the injury prevented him from reaching the 1.60m Grand Prix level his pedigree suggested, his recovery was a testament to his toughness.

  • The Teacher: Thanks to his "exceptional rideability and ease," he was the horse chosen to help a young Dylan Levallois transition into competition. He proved that even after trauma, his mind remained perfectly focused and generous.

  • ISO 128: This index reflects his competitive reliability and his successful return to the 1.35m–1.40m level despite his physical setbacks.
