Lordanos
Landos - Ahorn Z - Calypso I
Lordanos (1993–2021) was the cornerstone of the Hof Sosath station and one of the most beloved show jumping sires in German history. A bay Holsteiner of the elite Stamm 776, he earned the nickname "The Family Horse" for a feat likely unmatched in the sport: he won advanced S-level (1.50m) classes with all three members of the Sosath family—father Gerd, and his children Janne and Hendrik.
Lordanos was the epitome of durability, character, and versatility. His career was as long as it was successful:
-
Puissance Master: Under Janne Sosath-Hahn, he famously cleared a 2-meter wall in a puissance competition.
-
Young Horse Dominance: He began his career by winning nearly 40 competitions for young jumpers in a row.
-
Durability: He competed at the 1.40m–1.50m level for an incredible 11 years, retiring sound at the age of 18 to focus solely on his breeding legacy.
-
USEF Honor: In 2013, he was named the Top Jumper Sire in the United States by the USEF, a testament to his global influence.
