Herbst Konig

Herbstkönig (2008–2016) was a stallion whose name translates to "Autumn King," and for a short time, he truly was the sovereign of the Trakehner breed. A bay stallion of immense noble type, he was a bridge to the historic "H-line" through Interconti.

Though he passed away tragically young, his genetic legacy is so strong that even in 2026, he is still considered one of the most important "refining" influences in modern Trakehner and Warmblood breeding.

The Legend and the Loss

Herbstkönig’s story is one of brilliance followed by tragedy.

• Early Success: He was the Premium Reserve Champion of the 2010 Trakehner Licensing and a serial winner in the sport. He was crowned Trakehner Dressage Champion multiple times (2011, 2012, 2014) and was a regular finalist at the Bundeschampionat.
