Connoisseur

Connoisseur (born 2007) is a sophisticated dark bay Westphalian stallion standing at 1.69m. Known for his exceptional uphill movement and modern type, he has become a global ambassador for dressage excellence.

• European Beginnings: Under Dutch team rider Emmelie Scholtens, he was a standout in the prestigious Pavo Cup, placing 3rd and 6th in the finals (2011–2012) with scores in the mid-80s.

• Swedish Success: During a lease to the Swedish National Stud, Flyinge, he received a perfect 10.0 for his canter and a 9.5 for his trot, becoming the fourth highest-producing stallion in Sweden in 2010.

• North American Grand Prix Career: Since moving to Canada with owner/rider Sara Pocock, Connoisseur has transitioned into a highly successful CDI3 Grand Prix* competitor. In 2025 and 2026, he has been a consistent high-scorer in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special, frequently receiving 9s for his pirouettes and collected work.
