Caprimond
Karon - E.H. Mackensen - Herzbube
Caprimond (1985–2014) was a legendary mahogany bay Trakehner stallion standing at 167cm. Stationed at the prestigious Klosterhof Medingen, he is widely considered one of the most influential "improvers" in dressage history.
He was one of the rare sires who stayed active at the highest level of sport well into his late teens:
-
Stallion Test Legend: He won his 100-day test in Adelheidsdorf in 1988 with a sensational dressage index, proving early on that his rideability was second to none.
-
Grand Prix Veteran: Caprimond competed at the Grand Prix level until he was 19 years old. He famously taught two generations of the Wahler family (Burkhard and later his daughter Theresa) how to ride the most difficult movements, winning numerous Grand Prix titles along the way.
-
The "Type" King: For over a decade, he was ranked the #1 stallion for "type" in the Hanoverian Yearbook of Stallions, often receiving scores near the biological maximum (e.g., 175 for type, 198 for head).
